Hey there! Welcome to the Zig Daddy Blog! Recently my wife and one of her friends told me I should blog about all the things I post on Facebook. So this blog is going to be about 90% food-related and 10% other interests of mine.
So is this a blog you want to be reading? Here is some sampling of where I will be coming from with my posts:
- I have been selling restaurant equipment for over a decade, and I have certainly have been influenced by the chef’s I have served.
- On the other hand, I mainly cook for my family of five. I am lucky in that my three young children are adventurous eaters, and not picky at all. Which is good for them, as I will not cater to picky eaters. But being a family man means that I do not have unlimited time or funds. So both of those things are considered when I decide what to make.
- High end or low brow, I love it all. I do not, however, like being low brow as a way to be hip. I would rather not have something if it tastes like crap, no matter what hipster cache can be gained by its consumption. Yep, talking about Pabst here.
- I love trying new tastes.
- I love eating local. I live in Lancaster, PA. So I am in the middle of some of the best farmland on Earth. I’d be stupid not to eat local.
